C’mon Apple. We need some extra slack in this mouse cable. It’s barely over two feet I think. I’m right-handed, so I plug mice in the left side of my MacBook Pro so that all the cable isn’t bunched up on the right hand side (plus the USB connector doesn’t bump my hand). With such a short cord, I barely have enough slack over on the right to move around.

And yes, I could use a Bluetooth wireless mouse (and I have several). But why waste batteries when I’m at home at my desk?

So, what am I using now? I cheap, black and grey, two button mouse that came with an old Dell. Ick. The Mighty Mouse is on its way back to the Apple Store.

Postscript: I’m trying to make it work. Just feels awkward with such a small cable. I feel like I’m pulling it taut. The mouse shouldn’t feel like a tether. I don’t like to feel like I’m tugging on the mouse. An extra foot of cable is poor design? Because you know this was a design decision. The length of cable was agonized over by Jonathan Ive and Co., right?
