So, I live in Dayton, Ohio now. Fairly equidistant from Cincinnati and Columbus. All three cities have fairly decent craigslist presences. I was finding myself often going to each of the three craigslist sites for each city, and searching for Apple computer products in the For Sale > Computer section. But I didn’t visit each day, and might go a week or so between visits. I felt like I should be able to track those searches using craigslist RSS, yet I didn’t want to track three feeds in my newsreader. And, I didn’t want to miss out on any postings between visits!
Since you can’t search multiple and specific craigslist cities at once via their site, I decided to use Yahoo! Pipes to handle munging the feeds together and spitting out one feed that contains results for all three.
Have a look! (and feel free to clone and edit for your hometown…)
So, since I do check my RSS news reader (NetNewsWire, if you were wondering) throughout the day, this is just another feed on my list! Yay!

08|Jun|2008 1I’m working on a Pipe to search for apartments around Salt Lake City. Did you need to have seperate fetch feed boxes and then use a union to bring them together? Couldn’t you have just added all 6 feeds in one fetch feed box? Just want to make sure I’m not missing something. Thanks!
